Introduction
Working Principle: This laser dry particle size analyzer utilizes the light diffraction and scattering theory to measure the particle size. The systems employ laser scanning technology and proprietary software for measurement by computer. The distribution data and curve of particles are displayed on computer.

YX-1178 laser dry particle size analyzer is possible to attain rapid and accurate distribution results for a large number of powder particles including large and coarse particles. Because powders are measured directly without being dispersed in another medium, they do not undergo any alteration, nor does a medium influence particle distribution.

Explanation on test report

  1. Particle diameter: In the report the particle diameter is equivalent spherical volume particle diameter.
  2. Distribution of volume frequency: The percentage of particle diameter between two data points in gross
  3. Distribution of volume accumulation: The percentage of particle diameter below
  4. D50: Diameter of 50% particles is below the corresponding particle diameter.
  5. Average particle size: Average value of equivalent spherical volume particle diameter for all the particles
  6. Concentration: The estimate of quantity with a sample, the range of optimum concentration is 45 ～ 80, and outside the range the value fluctuates with concentration.
  7. Curve: The abscissa symbolizes particle diameter(μm), and the ordinate is volume accumulated and Frequency (%).
  8. Specific surface area: Calculate from equivalent spherical particle, so it is different with BET method result.
